Prime Video has premiered the first of two planned films based on Mercedes Ron’s novel *Drawn Together*, starring Ester Expósito and Hugo Diego Garcia. The film, a romantic thriller, follows Marfil Cortés, the daughter of a Spanish businessman, after she is kidnapped and her father hires Sebastián Moore as her bodyguard. The adaptation is part of a larger expansion of Ron’s “House of Ron” audiovisual empire with Amazon MGM Studios.
The film has been released in over 240 countries and territories. It is produced by Pokeepsie Films, founded by Álex de la Iglesia and Carolina Bang. Ron describes *Drawn Together* as more mature and complex than her *My Fault* trilogy, with more action, thriller elements, and darkness. She stated that many readers consider it her best book, adding, “No pressure?”
Ron is heavily involved in the film adaptations, particularly in casting and script development. Previous adaptations of Ron’s work, including the *Culpables* trilogy, have achieved significant viewership on Prime Video, reaching a combined 100 million views worldwide as of this summer. English-language versions of *My Fault* and *Your Fault* have also been released, with *Our Fault: London* slated for a 2027 premiere. Ron’s *Dímelo* trilogy was previously adapted with *Tell Me Softly* premiering last year.
