UFC fighter King Green claims many athletes, including titleholders, are using banned substances and avoiding detection. He made the claims while discussing his 2022 fight against Islam Makhachev.
Green stated that grappling with Makhachev “felt like drugs,” explaining he has faced “thousands of people” and this was the first time he experienced such a sensation, comparing it to competing against opponents using performance-enhancing drugs. “That feels like drugs,” Green said on Arnold Barboza’s Kick stream. “I could feel the difference.”
He further alleged that some UFC champions are among those illegally using substances, possessing the financial resources and knowledge to evade testing. “There’s motherf***ers in the UFC that still be cheating, OK? They still be cheating. These motherf***ers cheat; and they're a lot of your titleholders, there are a lot of those guys that you didn't know about it. But they got the money to hide and they know what they are doing.”
Makhachev defeated Green in 2022 via first-round stoppage, in a bout Green took on short notice after replacing Beneil Dariush. Green, currently on a four-fight winning streak, is scheduled to face Esteban Ribovics at UFC332 on October 3 in Salt Lake City.
