Taylor Swift announced she will attend the Country Music Association Awards this November, marking her first appearance in 10 years, following her nomination for Single of the Year for “I Knew It, I Knew You.”
Within hours of the CMA nomination announcement, Swift took to Instagram to express her excitement. “LOOKS LIKE I HAVEN’T YEE’D MY LAST HAW,” she wrote, followed by a smiling face wearing a cowboy hat. She added, “THANK YOU CMA!!!! See you there Nov. 18.” The song “I Knew It, I Knew You” is featured in the “Toy Story 5” movie.
Swift last attended the CMA Awards in 2016, presenting Garth Brooks with the Entertainer of the Year award. Her last performance at the CMAs was in 2013, an acoustic rendition of “Red” with Vince Gill, during her transition from country to pop. She also performed “Betty” at the ACM Awards in 2020.
Industry observers speculate Swift’s appearance could extend beyond attendance, potentially including a performance. Additionally, “I Knew It, I Knew You” is expected to be submitted for consideration for both the Oscars and the Grammys. Variety reported that Swift is likely to submit the song for Song of the Year at the Grammys, and “The Fate of Ophelia” for Record of the Year.
Fans anticipate a possible new country release before the November 18th awards show, with speculation centering on a “Taylor’s Version” re-recording of her debut album to commemorate its 20th anniversary. Swift previously stated she had completed the re-recording.
