Universal’s upcoming Snoop Dogg biopic has added SwayvoTwain, the son of D’Angelo and Angie Stone, to the cast as the Notorious B.I.G. Bentley Green and G Perico will also appear in the film.
The biopic, titled “Snoop,” aims to be the “definitive” portrayal of the entertainment mogul Snoop Dogg. SwayvoTwain, a recording artist and songwriter, will portray Christopher Wallace, known as the Notorious B.I.G., a highly influential hip-hop artist of the 1990s who died in 1997. Despite being signed to Death Row Records, Snoop Dogg and Biggie shared mutual respect.
Bentley Green will play RBX, whose real name is Eric Dwayne Collins, a rapper who signed with Death Row Records in the 1990s alongside Snoop Dogg and had a 30-year career. G Perico will portray Big Reecie Cup, a figure from Snoop Dogg’s Long Beach roots.
The film is directed by Craig Brewer, who rewrote a script originally penned by Joe Robert Cole. It is scheduled for theatrical release on August 6, 2027. Other cast members include Myles Bullock as Dr. Dre, Lauren London as Snoop’s late mother Beverly Tate, Camron Jones as Tupac Shakur, Algee Smith as Warren G, Tre Hale as Suge Knight, Laya DeLeon Hayes as Shante Broadus, Olly Sholotan as Kurupt, Corey Champagne as Nate Dogg, and Jonica Booth as The Lady of Rage. SwayvoTwain’s recent music, including songs like “DoveSoar” and “Ms. Angie’s Son,” reflects the influence of his parents while showcasing his own unique sound. This role marks his first major movie appearance.
