The Los Angeles Rams reportedly attempted to acquire Las Vegas Raiders defensive end Maxx Crosby after a trade to the Baltimore Ravens fell through due to a failed physical. Several other teams also made offers, but Crosby ultimately remained with the Raiders.
Following a failed trade to the Baltimore Ravens in March, Maxx Crosby was pursued by multiple teams, including the Rams, Dallas Cowboys, Philadelphia Eagles, and San Francisco 49ers, according to ESPN. The Ravens backed out of the deal after Crosby’s physical revealed issues stemming from offseason knee surgery. Crosby quickly signaled his desire to stay in Las Vegas, tweeting, “I’m a Raider. I’m back.”
Despite Crosby’s apparent preference, other teams continued to express interest. ESPN reported that the Rams’ offer came the closest to being accepted, though it ultimately did not materialize. Many of the offers from other teams were described as being for “pennies on the dollars.” Crosby reportedly communicated to all interested teams that he wanted to remain with the Raiders.
Ultimately, the Rams pivoted and acquired Myles Garrett, a move that cost them Jared Verse and multiple draft picks. Crosby, who has made five consecutive Pro Bowls and twice led the league in tackles for loss, signed a three-year, $106.5 million extension with the Raiders in 2025, keeping him with the team through the 2029 season.
