Lazio sporting director Angelo Fabiani is working to secure an attacking addition before the transfer deadline, with Albert Gudmundsson’s potential move facing complications. As a result, the club is exploring alternatives in the form of Swedish wingers Isak Bjerkebo and Montader Madjed.
Lazio had reportedly agreed to a loan deal with an option to buy for Fiorentina’s Albert Gudmundsson, totaling €15 million. However, the deal is at risk because Lazio manager Gennaro Gattuso prefers a different profile of player. Gudmundsson is a second striker who also plays as an inverted left winger.
To facilitate a new arrival, Lazio is attempting to offload Matteo Cancellieri, whose contract is expiring. Boulaye Dia is another potential departure, and Petar Ratkov’s transfer to Levante is imminent.
Fabiani is now focusing on Isak Bjerkebo, who has scored 13 goals and provided five assists in 18 appearances for Sirius this year. Bjerkebo, 23, is under contract with Sirius until December 2029 and is valued at approximately €3.5 million.
The club is also considering Montader Madjed, a 21-year-old winger from Hammarby. Madjed, while representing Iraq internationally, was born and raised in Sweden. He is a left-footed player who prefers the right wing, potentially serving as a replacement for Cancellieri and an understudy to Gustav Isaksen. Madjed’s estimated value is also €3.5 million, and his contract expires at the end of 2028.
