Fulham suffered a 3-2 defeat to Crystal Palace at Craven Cottage, marking their third consecutive Premier League loss under manager Alvaro Arbeloa. Supporters voiced their discontent with boos after the match.
Josh King and Cesar Palacios scored for Fulham in the first half, but Tyrick Mitchell equalized twice for Palace. Ben Chilwell, making his second debut for Crystal Palace, scored the winning goal three minutes into his return. This leaves Fulham as one of only two teams with zero points after three Premier League games, the other being Coventry City. They previously lost 3-2 to Sunderland and Chelsea.
Arbeloa expressed his disappointment with the result but defended his players' performance. "We didn't deserve to lose this game," he told BBC’s Match of the Day. "My players did everything - good attitude, they were brave, so many chances to score more goals. They [Palace] took their chances - in the end football is about that. We did many good things to win the game. It was similar against Chelsea but we lose."
Despite a better expected goals (xG) of 3.13 compared to Palace’s 1.97, Fulham remains without a point. Arbeloa acknowledged the difficult situation for the players but stated he was “very proud of them.” Fulham’s next fixtures include matches against Liverpool and Manchester United before the international break. Only six Premier League teams have started a season with five straight defeats, with only two avoiding relegation. Fulham made seven signings this season.
