Chile’s Film Academy has chosen Manuela Martelli’s “The Meltdown” to represent the nation in the Best International Feature category at the 2027 Academy Awards. The film, a post-Pinochet mystery drama, premiered at the Cannes Film Festival.
“The Meltdown” (“El deshielo”) is the follow-up to Martelli’s previously acclaimed drama, “Chile, 1976.” The selection was announced by Chile’s Film Academy, which is responsible for submitting entries for the prestigious international film award.
