Tampa Bay Buccaneers rookie Jalon Daniels orchestrated a second-half comeback to secure a 16-15 preseason victory over the Kansas City Chiefs on Saturday night. Daniels led three scoring drives, overcoming a 9-0 halftime deficit.
The Buccaneers (2-0) found themselves trailing significantly at the break, but Daniels stepped up to guide the team to victory. He connected with Ko Kieft for a 2-yard touchdown pass, while Sean Tucker powered into the endzone for a 1-yard rushing touchdown. B.T. Potter added a 46-yard field goal, completing the scoring for Tampa Bay.
Kansas City (0-2) relied on the leg of Harrison Butker, who successfully kicked three field goals. Butker’s longest attempt, a 69-yarder, came as time expired in the first half. Despite Butker’s performance, the Chiefs were unable to maintain their lead in the second half.
The Buccaneers’ comeback was fueled by Daniels’ ability to lead scoring drives after halftime, ultimately proving to be the difference in the 16-15 win.
